Michelle Paver wins the Guardian children’s fiction prize

Congratulations! Although I have a lot of love for Eva Ibbotson, you can’t help but admire the constant quality and standard present in Paver’s work. More info available here

Edit 9/10/10 : Saturday’s Guardian saw an excellent interview with Paver regarding her work. I’m always slightly disappointed that children’s books are stuffed at the back of the literary supplement, but any publicity is better than none. What is more cheering is the quality of writers / reviewers the Guardian attracts.  In this interview with Paver, she talks about the writing process and for me it seems to be very similar to method acting. She has experienced nearly everything she puts her characters through. Very much reccomended reading. And congratulations again!
