About me

I like cake, children’s literature, and comics (not necessarily in that order). If I could have gone to any school in the world, it would have been the Chalet School. If I could have written any book it would have been Millions by Frank Cottrell Boyce. And I make amazing chocolate brownies.

I am a book ninja who enjoys long walks along the beach, being stubborn, being creative, and being an all out nerd. I’ve got a Masters in Children’s Literature and also a BA (hons) in Performance Writing. Essentially what that means is that I could happily write an essay on intertextuality but I’d have to do it in the mud with a stick and intersperse it with a bit of sound poetry.

I’m currently looking to specialise professionally in children’s literature so if you think I might be a good fit for your project or organisation, let’s talk. You can email or catch me on Twitter @chaletfan.

You can view a sample of my work here: Voya February 2011 and also my Emerald author profile here.

  1. Babbleabout Books here (Yvonne). I didn’t know you had done a TEFL job. I’m thinking of adding that to my list. Did you do a course?? And which one was it? You have gone even further up in my estimations (if that is the right phrase …. and if that was even possible!).

    Best wishes to you. Yvonne

  2. Hallo nobodyjones,

I’v e just had an email saying that you’re following my blog, which is very nice. But it all went pear-shaped a while back and I can’t find it anywhere now. Does it still actually exist somewhere?

Could you let me know how you got hold of it so that I might be able to find it again?

    Thank you!
